Tamanu is recognized for its antioxidant properties and ability to repair the surface of the skin. It's traditionally applied to the skin to calm itchiness and slight damage caused by the sun or mosquito bites and even minor burns. With many benefits, it is used by Polynesians for all types of skin irritation, including scrapes, cuts, burns, insect bites and stings, acne and acne scars, psoriasis, sunburn, dry or scaly skin, and eczema.
"I have used it with amazing effects on minor burns, and most impressively, on my daughter's infected eczema when I could not get to a doctor. The infection subsided overnight, and continued to heal over several days. No doctor's visit (or antibiotics) were required"
We carry 100% pure oil extracted by cold-pressing the Tamanu nut, as well as Monoi containing 30% Tamanu oil, and a Monoi soap enriched with Tamanu oil.
Anyone with nut allergies is advised to do a patch test before use.Like all natural oils, both Monoi and Tamanu oils become solid at a certain temperature, as they contain no artificial additives. Below 24 degrees Celsius, place the bottle in a glass of warm water for a few minutes and the oil liquefies again. This does not change the composition of the oil.
